150th Beatrix Potter extravaganza

The 150th anniversary of Beatrix Potter presented the perfect excuse to celebrate the arrival of spring with Mr. McGregor's pillaged, pickled vegetable patch running the length of the tables. But whatever you do, don't let Flopsy, Mopsy or Cotton get wind of what happened to Benjamin in the main course!!

Main course: The Demise of Poor Benjamin Bunny (confit rabbit leg, served with rosemary potatoes, black pudding and garden peas)

Surprise course inspired by the Tale of Squirrel Nutkin. Could it really be a beetle wrapped up carefully in a dock leaf, fastened with a pine-needle pin? Well, actually, it was deep fried chili crickets, wrapped in spinach leaves, fastened with a pine needle, washed down with a frozen forest cassis shot.
